Plant Walk on Yewei’im Bom Trail with Grayson Coney

Join BYLT for a family-friendly guided Native Ways and Plant Walk on the new Yewei’im Bom Trail with Grayson Coney. Grayson will talk about the progressive changes happening at Burton Homestead using science and ancient knowledge. “We’re using science and nature to heal this place,” said Grayson of the preserve, impacted by historic gold mining and cattle ranching. Hikers will learn about the native plants being re-introduced to this beautiful 38-acre preserve.

This one-mile loop trail was established in the spring of 2016 by hardworking volunteers. It traverses a variety of landscapes such as meadow, chaparral, mixed conifer forest and wetland habitat. Evidence of Native American people living on the property dates back at least 5,000 years.
