Camp Scholarship Fund

For some of us, summer camp left a lifelong impression. A positive camp experience can plant a seed of an idea about the wonder of nature and a feeling of personal responsibility to help preserve, conserve, and enhance our environment. Today's children are tomorrow's adult conservationists, but fewer and fewer children are getting outdoors each year. Reconnecting children with the outdoors has become critical to their health and the health of our natural landscapes - our natural landscapes need the support and protection of individuals with a strong connection to the outdoors.

This June, our Burton Homestead will be home to more than 150 children who will attend our BYLT Summer Day Camp. But there will be many who need financial support to gain this inspiring outdoors experience. Our Camp Scholarship Fund sends many underprivileged kids to BYLT Summer Day Camp every year.

Not only will these scholarships help parents in need, the community will be enriched by kids who have a growing understanding of the natural environment here and an appreciation for the need to care for it responsibly. It means so much to these kids to be able to learn and grow in a beautiful outdoors setting under the careful supervision of youth education professionals. The camp experience really makes a difference in children’s lives. This is especially true for underprivileged children who have few opportunities like this.
