You can help protect and enhance the natural areas, farms and ranches, trails and parks in the Bear and Yuba watersheds and provide a lasting community heritage by including Bear Yuba Land Trust in your will and/or estate plans. When you name Bear Yuba Land Trust in your planned giving program, you are making a permanent, legacy gift to your community. With the right gift donors can meet multiple objectives:
When you include BYLT in your estate planning, you become a part of our Legacy Circle.
Legacy Circle members receive special briefings and land tours to learn more about the plans and strategies the Bear Yuba Land Trust has to deliver on its mission.
Many community residents have already included Bear Yuba Land Trust in their estate plans. Our current pooled gifted endowment valued at more than $2 million is invested responsibly in conservative securities that provide long term income to the organization. Investments are managed by an Investment Committee made up of experts in financial planning and investing, under the direction of the BYLT Board of Directors and the Treasurer.
Bear Yuba Land Trust would be pleased to work with you to ensure that your wishes will be met.
One of the easiest ways to make a gift to Bear Yuba Land Trust is through planned giving methods such as a bequest. Bequest provisions in a will and/or a revocable living trust allow the donor to control the distribution of his or her estate and to preserve as much of the estate as possible through judicious use of tax-saving opportunities. Bequests come in several types: Specific Bequests, Specific Bequests of a Conservation or Agricultural Easement, Residuary Bequests, Contingent Bequests, and Revocable Living Trusts.
Anyone considering his or her estate plan must seek the advice of a competent attorney and/or estate tax expert before executing a will or living trust. Bear Yuba Land Trust can provide sample language for specific, residuary and remainder bequests, but we cannot advise you professionally.
Bear Yuba Land Trust tax ID number is 68-0256981.
