Trail Stewardship Team: Hirschman Trail

Join BYLT out on the land for a trail workday on Hirschman Trail on Saturday, May 25th from 9:00 to 1:00 pm. Meet at the Cement Hill trailhead; please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to fill out liability forms. If you are unfamiliar with the trail, more information can be found on the BYLT Trails Portal.

Tasks for the day include removing invasive plants, improving the trail tread and drainage, cutting back brush from the trail corridor and spreading gravel. Volunteers will earn a Trail Stewardship Team button for this event.

Safety: Wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, work shoes/boots, and gloves. Please come prepared with plenty of water, a lunch, and everything you need to have a fun, safe work day. BYLT will provide the tools and expertise needed to complete the workIf you have any questions or comments, please email shaun@bylt.org 

Please note: In the event of rain, this workday will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date. 

Directions to Trailhead: Take Highway 49 west toward Downieville past the Nevada County Government Center and turn right on Cement Hill Road. Go 0.1 mile and turn left into the unpaved driveway at 115 Cement Hill Road. There is a small parking area about 30 feet down the driveway on the left – please park perpendicular to the trail. Do not go farther down the residential driveway or disturb residents.
