Join BYLT, California State Parks and the South Yuba River Parks Association (SYRPA) out on the land for a trail workday on Independence Trail on Thursday, October 17th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm; please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out liability forms. Meet at the Independence Trail trailhead off of HWY 49, outside of Nevada City. If you are unfamiliar with the trailhead, please visit BYLT’s Trails Portal.
Tasks for the day include cleaning off flumes, opening up culverts, cutting back limbs, thinning the forest along the trail corridor, and improving the overall quality of the trail. Volunteers will earn a Trail Stewardship Team button for this event.
Safety: Wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, work shoes/boots, and gloves. Please come prepared with plenty of water, a lunch, and everything you need to have a fun, safe work day.
