Join BYLT for a Trail Workday at the Yuba Drop Trail on Wednesday, April 17th from 8:30 am- 3:30 pm; please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out liability forms. Meet at the Rood Center, located at 950 Maidu Ave in Nevada City, near the large meadow between the government building and the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
This volunteer opportunity is not for the faint of heart; volunteers will be working on a steep, existing trail on the north end of BYLT’s Rice’s Crossing Preserve. This is a black diamond trail and you will need to bring plenty of water and be prepared for a good hike. As a bonus, you’ll get to see a remote spot on the Yuba River few have witnessed. Volunteers will be hiking and performing routine trail maintenance and brush cutting with loppers. Because there is quite a bit of driving time and we have to hike to the work site we will not have you back to the Rood center until about 3:30 pm. This trail is an extension of the Yuba Rim Trail; if you are unfamiliar with the trail, please visit BYLT’s Trail Portal. Volunteers will earn a Trail Stewardship Team button for this event.
Safety: Wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, work shoes/boots, and gloves. Please come prepared with plenty of water, a lunch, and everything you need to have a fun, safe work day. BYLT will provide the tools and expertise needed to complete the work. If you have any questions or comments, please email email@example.com
Please note: In the event of rain, this workday will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.
