Volunteer Training: Trail Stewardship Team & Restoration Crew

Are you interested in learning more about Bear Yuba Land Trust? Are you passionate about maintaining local trails or stewarding open space? Come participate in the Volunteer Training for the Trail Stewardship Team and Restoration Crew volunteer programs!

The volunteer training for Trail Stewardship Team and Restoration Crew will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00am-1:00pm at the Wolf Creek Trail. Meet at the Wolf Creek Trailhead located off Freeman Lane, in between Tripp’s Auto Body and Jamba Juice, in Grass Valley; look for the BYLT silver truck. During the training, volunteers will learn more about the Trail Stewardship Team and Restoration Crew programs and BYLT’s role in stewarding lands and trails. Volunteers will gain practical skills such as how to effectively build and maintain trails and restore conserved lands. The schedule of the day is as follows:

9:45am-10:00am– Volunteers meet at the Wolf Creek Trailhead, fill out liability forms
10:00-10:45– Guided hike along Wolf Creek Trail- BYLT staff gives overview of the Land Trust and volunteer programs
10:45-12:30– Practical skills/application
12:30-1:00– Gather and recap of day

Please wear a long sleeve shirt and pants, work boots and anything else you need to have a comfortable experience. Bring a water bottle and a lunch, snacks will be provided. If you have any questions, contact felicia@bylt.org or (530) 272-5994 x 207
