John Taylor, a former Nevada County Agricultural Commissioner and devoted conservationist, has died. He was 89.
Taylor, of Alta Sierra, who received the 2010 William Nickerl Award for conservation leadership from the Bear Yuba Land Trust, died Saturday evening after a short illness, said land trust Executive Director Marty Coleman-Hunt.
“His passion for the community touched many lives,” Coleman-Hunt said. “We hope to have a wonderful memorial service for him within the next month.”
