This protected 160 acres of Sierran mixed conifer forest lies 3.5 miles northeast of Downieville. It is watered by the New York Ravine, plus two perennial springs and a seep and several seasonal springs. It is known to have a constant cold water spring-fed fishery for native rainbow trout.

Everett and Marilynn acquired the property in early 1991. Their son Jon died suddenly at age 30. To memorialize their son and his values, Everett and Marilyn permanently protected this working forest.
