This Preserve, owned by Barry and Bonnie Howard is adjacent to BYLT’s Woodpecker Wildlife Preserve located on Banner Mountain. The Cascade Canal trail cuts through the southern portion of the land and Little Deer Creek is the northern boundary.

The Howards regularly see mountain lion and bear on the property that consists of a mixed conifer and hardwood forest, dominated by incense cedar, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir and black oak. The understory is made up of a variety of native wildflowers, such as bleeding heart, pine violet, and star flower. Ephemeral waterways create a healthy riparian corridor running through the land.
