Nevada County’s trails “tipping point” celebrated

Two events this week are poised to push Nevada County trails past the “tipping point” from a loosely organized grassroots effort to a unified system with county leadership.

“We’ve hit a critical mass of demand and resources,” said Marty Coleman-Hunt, executive director of the Bear Yuba Land Trust. “We’re fragmented now, but if we were coordinated throughout the county, we would have greater impact.”

Coleman-Hunt was one of about 50 trails supporters at Tuesday’s Nevada County Board of Supervisors meeting as the board proclaimed this Saturday as “Celebration of Trails Day in Nevada County.”
