25th Anniversary Thank You

76-DSCN2015Bear Yuba Land Trust exists because of community support. This year’s 25th anniversary celebration was no exception.

Rock star event coordinator Barbara Bitner deserves a standing ovation for her meticulous attention to details and artist eye for graphic design.

64-DSCN2000Thank you to all who attended the sold out performance of Pete Escovedo and Sons. You bid high and often at the auction and in turn showed enormous support for land conservation. The weather was perfect and the backdrop couldn’t be beat for this evening of connecting with friends and neighbors. A special thank you to our wonderful concert sponsors: BriarPatch Co-op, Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty, Baird Meyers Investment Group, Placer Title Company, SPD, Szabo Vineyards, Telestream, KVMR, KNCO and The Union.

54-DSCN1982Thank you to KVMR, KNCO, The Union, Nevada City Advocate, Appeal Democrat, YubaNet, Outside Inn, GoNevadaCounty.com, Nevada City Chamber of Commerce, Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce and Parents Magazine for the fantastic media and community coverage of this event.

47-DSCN1965In addition, thanks to our food vendors for the delicious eats: Smiley Guys Smokehouse, The Truffle Shop and Christopher’s Catering Company. A big thank you to local farms, Little Boy Flowers and Dinner Bell Farm for donating the beautiful flowers for the Gala tables. Karen Pridemore’s sweet homemade centerpiece signs really showcased BYLT’s preserves. Local food from Riverhill Farm and Greg’s Organics made the Gala dinner a memorable meal. The bars were hopping thanks to generous donations from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Szabo Winery. Alex Szabo has a way of making any occasion more festive.

After nightfall the parking lot and grounds were illuminated thanks to Hansen Brothers and the beautiful strung lighting by Joshua Schwartz.

26-DSCN1932BYLT’s booth had a fun circus-like flair thanks to a donated tent from Life’s Best Inn Tents. Next door, NCTV’s Cheryl Noble and crew collected stories from folks who shared their connections to nature and the reasons why land conservation and supporting BYLT is important to them. Photographers Clarence Motter and Hillary Hodge captured images of the magical night.

The courtyard was filled with dancers learning the fine art of salsa dancing from Lucy Galbraith and instructors from Salsa Sierra.

Auctioneer Zack Krone came all the way from Southern California to delight our audience once again with his fast-talking, comedy relief and sincere belief in the Land Trust mission. We are grateful to the many businesses and individuals who donated to our silent and live auctions, (SEE THEM HERE), making this year’s auctions one of the most successful, ever!

We are grateful to Peggy Levine and all the volunteers of North Star Historic Conservancy for restoring this gem of California’s architectural history to its modern day glory.

And last but definitely not least, a HUGE thank you to our many volunteers whose hard work behind the scenes kept the event running smoothly and without a hitch. The work of the Land Trust would not be possible without you!
